I wear a heart rate monitor every morning as I run. EKG and the HRM usually give me a sub-60 resting HR. The last couple weeks, I have been waking up and having a resting HR between 100 and 130 - and while running I've gone as high as 196, at which point I made myself stop so I wouldn't pop my heart. The EKGs I've had and my HRM (Suunto t3c in case you're wondering), have been about the same, and the manual method with fingers on my pulse have given me the same results. By the evening, my HR has gone down to normal, but it lasts all morning.
Am I killing myself if I don't see a doctor about this?
