You are supercritical about how you appear to others. Even though you may think you are uninteresting and dull, you are actually quite soft- spoken, orderly, neat and very likable. You are a perfectionist with high standards,and at times you can be quite tactless in pointing out the faults of others. Very practical, efficient and purposeful, your appearance and bearing reflect your need to appear graceful, sensible and reserved. You have a crisp, no-nonsense approach to dealing with others. Never lazy or self-indulgent, you tend to be dedicated to the work ethic.

Sun is in 20 Degrees Gemini.
You have a quick, bright and agile mind, but an extremely short attention span. You love the external, kaleidoscopic aspects of life, but you tend to avoid (and even fear) deep, close emotional involvements. As such, you seem to enjoy travel and sightseeing and generally being "on-the-go." You get quite listless when things around you become static and dull, but your excitement returns whenever you are stimulated by a new idea. Chatty, inquisitive and quite playful, you enjoy practical jokes and games in general. Your moods change quickly and often -- you are very restless and constantly in motion. You are known for your versatility and adaptability. Your vivaciousness enlivens any social gathering.

Moon is in 05 Degrees Gemini.
Restless in the extreme, you are easily bored because of your short attention span. Your emotions change rapidly and you love to talk about your feelings. Generally, you have good judgment -- your intellect controls your emotions and you do not overreact emotionally to things. A good jack-of-all-trades, you have many- sided interests and enjoy reasoning things through. With your mental agility and need for physical mobility, you are attracted to traveling and learning about other peoples and cultures. You have vivid powers of emotional self-expression - - you can be a nonstop talker. You love to share your ideas with anyone who will listen.

Mercury is in 15 Degrees Cancer.
Your emotions tend to rule your thought processes (NOTE: I make no personal distinction between my emotions and thought processes, they are the same for me. So the fact that this says the opposite of the one above makes sense to me). You have difficulty seeing life objectively. You have an excellent memory, especially about things to which you have formed an emotional bond. You prefer ideas and thoughts that are known and familiar, and therefore tend to dislike fads or radical ideas. The beliefs and traditions of your family and culture are very important to you. Your thinking becomes quite unclear when you are emotionally shaken -- try not to make major decisions when you are upset. Let things calm down first.

Venus is in 26 Degrees Gemini.
You are friendly, warm, open and tolerant toward others. You love variety in relationships, indeed you may even prefer to maintain more than one relationship at a time! Very witty and humorous, you have the ability to amuse and please others. This makes you quite popular. You love to play the field and thus find it difficult to settle down and make any deep emotional commitments. Your innate charm and vivacity makes you welcome most everywhere you go.

Mars is in 14 Degrees Virgo.
Very careful and systematic, you pay great attention to details. You are always seeking perfection and sometimes get bogged down searching for the ultimate when adequacy would have been sufficient. You dislike abstractions, preferring whatever is practical, useful and demonstrable. You have a strong and enduring sense of personal responsibility, and you demand that others be as responsible and upright as you are. Very critical of yourself and others, sometimes you carry this too far and become overly intolerant of others and their right to choose their own lifestyles.

Jupiter is in 03 Degrees Virgo.
You feel most expansive and at ease with yourself when you are doing something that you consider to be practical or useful. You enjoy being dutiful and carrying out responsibilities. You gladly take on the little tasks that others seem to want to avoid. At times, you carry things to extremes and feel guilty anytime you do something that you consider to be self-indulgent. While it is appropriate for you to demand little for yourself in life, try to loosen up once in a while -- go out on a fling and enjoy yourself!

Saturn is in 20 Degrees Virgo.
Your life must be orderly and practical and full of known and familiar routines in order for you to feel comfortable with yourself. Be careful, however, not to let "order" become the be-all and end-all of your life, or you may become cold, crass and unfeeling. Doing useful, practical things boosts your self- esteem. Abstract concepts and reasoning seem frivolous and a waste of time to you. You are very critical of yourself (and others), indeed at times quite self-deprecating. Try to relax a bit and allow yourself the freedom to fail once in a while. However, you probably won't fail very often because you are such a perfectionist.

Uranus is in 22 Degrees Scorpio.
You, and your peer group, demand to confront life at its deepest and most meaningful levels. Very compulsive and obsessive in your approach to everything, you will avoid anything that is casual or superficial, especially when it comes to relationships. You will seek out and explore new methods of healing as well as different ways to deal with deep-seated emotional problems.

Neptune is in 21 Degrees Sagittarius.
You, and your entire generation, are heavily involved in investigating and idealizing foreign and exotic intellectual systems and religious philosophies. The most extreme ideals will be pursued with gusto. You will be at the forefront of humanitarian attempts to improve the lot of those who are in need of assistance. You will be comfortable with the concept of the "global village."

Pluto is in 19 Degrees Libra.
For your entire generation, this is a time of radical changes in society's attitude toward marriage and interpersonal relationships. There is a general fear and awe at the power inherent in making emotional or contractual commitments -- they will not be entered into lightly.

N. Node is in 22 Degrees Leo.
You prefer to take the leadership role when it comes to dealing with others. You enjoy administering and organizing group activities. Others tend to listen to your suggestions because you aren't usually overly domineering or patronizing in your interactions. You love to entertain in a big way -- you're at your best when throwing a large and lavish party. Your popularity and social success are assured as long as you don't take others for granted -- resist the temptation to become snobbish and arrogant.

--------------------------------
It's funny that it basically says opposite things a lot. Normally I'd just laugh at it but for me it actually makes sense in a way.

Youtube favorite song meme

A few people have done this mem where they post youtube videos of their favorite song. Most people have just posted the video and that's it. I like a lot of different things for different reasons- being able to relate to what the person is singing about, technical ability of the performer (which I can only understand to a limited degree because I'm not a musician), because the song reminds me a of a person or an event in my life. What I find myself listening to most of the time is stuff that defies genres directly or has aspects of many different styles.

Here is an example:
<lj-embed id="17" />

Emotion Sickness by Silver Chair. The piano part is by David Helfgott who I really like. He has a reputation as an overrated pianist but I like him. He isn't tehnically the best pianist I guess but after someone reaches a certain point I just can't tell the difference because I'm not a musician myself. Plus it's interesting that someone with a severe mental disorder can become so talented.

<lj-embed id="18" />

I do have some experience with singing though and I really can appreciate good vocals. People will probably disagree with me but I like Diamanda Galas' version of Gloomy Sunday just as much as the Billie Holiday version. Diamanda Galas has a huge vocal range and can hit really high and low notes, but I tend to like the low range stuff better because I really like when women sing in a sultry-bluesy low voice.

<lj-embed id="19" />

Speaking of that I like Nico's version of The End. However, I like this song mostly because it reminds me of a very weird period in my life.

<lj-embed id="20" />

On that theme, for some reason songs by the The Postal Service seem to show up at the weirdest times in my life. Probably just because lots of people like them.

<lj-embed id="21" />

Then there are certain artist who have songs in which I relate to the lyrics. The Faint ofr example have a ton of songs that are about doctors, sickness, and weird things. I wonder if the person that wrote the songs is a hypochondriac or really sickly.

<lj-embed id="25" />

If I ever get married Id like to dance to this song. Yeah, I'm a romantic at heart. I really like Nick Drake. A lot of his songs are really depressing, he was a depressed guy who died from an antidepressant overdose, but this song is really happy.Whenever I hear someone playing guitar I jokingly ask them to play Nick Drake, it'ss like asking a pianist to play some Rachmaninoff, most people can't even tune their guitar to his tuning. I remember one guy actually did it when I asked him to, really impressive. I guess Nick Drake uses cluster chords/tone clusters which I don't know much about other than they produce dissonance.

<lj-embed id="26" />

<lj-embed id="23" />

Some pianists like Leo Ornstein and Henry Cowell used tone clusters too and their songs sound really cool.

<lj-embed id="24" />

Then there is Harry Partch. Made up his own scale which uses invented musical instruments that he made himself. It's really crazy.

Could have been better but I have limited time and I didn't want to try to waste time resizing images and stuff. But you get the idea. IMO, funnier than the milkshake thing. BTW, I found the soundfile in a youtube video and extracted it myself. It took a little while but now that I know how to do it it's not that hard.
